Michelle Murlin was born and raised in Steelton, Pennsylvania. It's a small steel-town, just outside of the capital, Harrisburg. Her mom, Dolly, says she sang before she talked and hasn't shut up since! Michelle (also known to the locals as "Shelley") started dancing and singing lessons at age four and naturally progressed into a rewarding career in musical theatre by her early teens.

Michelle attended Carnegie-Mellon University and Point Park University (both in Pittsburgh) and graduated with a degree in Musical Theatre/Dance. She worked at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. Michelle was lead singer for the BMG recording artists group, "Fem 2 Fem" and can also be heard on many TV movies, documentaries and feature films.

Michelle is most proud of her theatre background, having performed in a wide variety of productions, ranging from the opera "Candide" to the rock musical "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Her favorite role was Adelaide in "Guys And Dolls" but is most remembered as Grizabella in "Cats"and Fantine in "Les Miserables. Michelle is also remembered as Reuben's Wife in the Original Broadway Cast of "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" starring Michael Damian in 1993. She is also proud to be on the Original Broadway Cast Recording of that show, which is available in most record stores.

Michelle is very proud to continue her career in the cruise ship industry, where she has worked since 1996. She hopes her book will help YOU find success in the cruise ship industry as well!
